I have always like Tecno smartphones because they offer good value for money and the devices are sturdy and efficient. With the latest offering from Tecno I will again say the same for this one too. The new variant of the Tecno Spark 8P was launched in Nigeria recently with a few changes from the Asian model but with generally the same specs.

Processor- The Nigerian model of the Tecno Spark 8P comes with an octa-core Mediatek Helio G35 processor under the hood. The Asian model of the smartphone has a Helio G70 which is a slightly better option than this one.

Display- In terms of display and screen resolution, the Spark 8P comes with a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2408 pixels FHD+ with 20:9 ratio and the 90Hz refresh rate that was afforded in the older model, the Tecno Spark 7P, which was also powered by Helio G70 from Mediatek. With the new resolution you could expect extra sharpness and object clarity but with a slight decline in smoothness. There is also a dewdrop notch on the head of the display.

Battery- I like the overall specs of the Tecno Spark 8P but the best specification on the smartphone is the big 5000mAh battery which I think is brilliant. There is also a 10W charger with the battery.

Camera and other features- The rear camera on the Spark 8P is a 50-megapixel main lens, along with two other AI lens and four LED flash. It has a slot for dual Nano-SIMs cum SD-card. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, doubling as the power button, while Google Android 11 runs out of the box.

Colour variants- The Spark 8P KG7H, which is the model introduced in Nigeria is available in four vibrant and beautiful colour options of Turquoise Cyan, Atlantic Blue, Iris Purple, Tahiti Gold color.

Price- The 4GB+64GB storage version is priced at N77,000 in Nigeria, while the 4GB+128GB option costs N86,500. I think overall, considering the price range, it is a pretty decent option to consider.
